Video journalist dies in Chennai after collision with speeding car

In a tragic incident, a video journalist was killed after his motorcycle collided with a speeding car on Tuesday night in Chennai. The deceased, Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Pondy Bazaar, worked as a cameraman for a popular Telugu news channel and moonlighted as a Rapido driver on an ad hoc basis.

Kumar was crossing the Maduravoyal-Tambaram elevated bypass on his motorcycle when he was hit by a BMW car. Eyewitnesses called the police and reported the incident, stating that the car driver fled the scene, abandoning the car after the collision.

Authorities were alerted to the accident when passersby found the abandoned BMW. A police investigation into the scene revealed that Kumar’s motorcycle was damaged, but his body was approximately 100 meters away from the impact on a lower part of the elevated highway.

Preliminary investigations into the matter have revealed that the impact was so powerful that Kumar was flung from the motorcycle, causing fatal injuries upon falling. The police are now in the process of searching for the driver of the expensive car, and further inquiries are going on piecing together the details of this tragic event.
