Weather concerns loom over Ind vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 final

Thus, as cricket fans throughout the world prepare for the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa, the climate still poses one of the key influences that may define the match’s final result.

Indeed, India wishes to win a trophy from the ICC Championship competition after a decade’s wait, while South Africa, on the other hand, is striving to clinch its first ICC World Cup title. Although it has never rained in the West Indies during any of the games played, rain has interfered with several games played in the USA and Caribbean basin during this tournament.

Looking at the case of rain infringing the play, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has provided a way to ensure the match continues. The final of the series, which is scheduled to be played in Barbados, also has a reserve day declared for Sunday, June 30. The ICC has a playing condition wherein everything possible will be done to have the match on the scheduled day, with any overs’ reduction if necessary.

However, if the minimum number of overs cannot be bowled for the said match on the fixed day, then the match will be shifted to the reserve day. If the match begins on the playing day and gets delayed to a position where overs are cut to fifty, then the match will be continued on the reserve day from the point it left.

The weather prospects for Barbadian soil will play a pivotal role as both sides vie for the coveted championship. All cricket lovers across the globe will pray that there will be no disturbances in the skies so that they can enjoy a cracker of a cricket saga to decide the T20 champion.
