In a shocking turn of events, the wife of Maharashtra BJP MLC Yogesh Tilekar’s uncle has been arrested for allegedly hatching a plot to kill her husband Satish Wagh. The police officials said the motive behind this chilling conspiracy had been linked to her illicit affair with their former tenant.
The 48-year-old Mohini Wagh allegedly conspired with her lover, 29-year-old Akshay Jawalkar, to get rid of her husband. Evidence shows she provided a contract to four accomplices, promising them Rs 5 lakh for the murder.
55-year-old Satish Wagh was kidnapped in Pune district on December 9. He was abducted forcefully from near Shewalwadi Chowk in Hadapsar and found dead near Yavat on the Pune-Solapur Highway, about 40 km from the place of abduction.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade said, “Mohini Wagh was arrested after the investigators found her involvement in the conspiracy. It was established that she had solicited Akshay Jawalkar to carry out the murder, which subsequently led to the contract being offered to four others.
The romance between Mohini and Jawalkar reportedly flowered when the latter’s family was staying as a tenant of Wagh. Matters reached a flashpoint when Satish learnt about his wife’s affair and chided her, leading to marital discord. After Jawalkar shifted elsewhere, Mohini and Akshay continued communicating clandestinely.
The police, apart from the two Mohini Wagh and Akshay Jawalkar, arrested three more: Pawan Shyamsundar Sharma, 30, Navnath Arjun Gursale, 31, and Vikas Sitaram Shinde, 28, in the case.
Mohini Wagh, after her arrest, is to be produced in a local court, with investigations into the case underway.
