Efforts to protect livestock from attacks by the wolf are being continued with the members of the district, police force and forest authorities. Since March some steps have been taken to curb the situation involving Mahsi tehsil with divisional forest officers of four divisions being actively employed.

Currently real-time cameras in drones are used to observe the mentioned wolf pack and efficient measures are being used to control the direction they will be taking. The forest department has then being applying some scents from the indomitable elephant dung as well as urine since wolves cannot hunt the presence of elephants. IFS officer Akashdeep Badhawan, who is heading the operation, said that the team has located six wolves and of them three have been trapped.

The Divisional Forest Officer Ajit Pratap Singh added that there have been about 30 attacks in the last 40 days, and the wolves prefer to attack children while they are asleep and later the wolves lead the child to a secluded place. Last few nights the Forest Department along with some communities went for night patrolling with torches which forced the wolves change their schedule of attacking.
