Woman alleges molestation in ambulance in Uttar Pradesh

In another outrageous case reported in Uttar Pradesh, a woman was alleged to have been molested inside an Ambulance while taking her husband to the hospital. It is also alleged that after the attack, the staff at the ambulance removed the woman from the vehicle and threw her husband out with his oxygen supply disconnected. Unfortunately, the husband later died while receiving treatment at Gorakhpur Medical College.

The event occurred on August 30th in Siddharthnagar district. Harish, the woman’s husband, had been unwell for several days and was first rushed to Basti Medical College. It is said that when his condition deteriorated, doctors recommended he be taken to another center. Unfortunately, the woman could not pay the fees at the private hospital and had to take her husband home for further treatment.

Raising Orji’s allegations in the course of the trial, the driver was said to have forced her to sit at the front with him instead of the passenger’s seat, and he and his aide sexually assaulted her. When she tried to do so, they tried to suffocate her husband and evicted both of them from the ambulance. The driver is also accused of stealing the woman’s jewelry in the house, going by the confessions that he made to the law enforcement officers.

It is in this area that, after having been raped, the victim reported the ordeal to her brother, who, in return, reported the matter to the police. Her husband dies of his injuries even though he is rushed back to the hospital force-fed, remediating lifesaving surgery.

Her testimony is that the police did not arrest an ambulance driver and his companion. A formal complaint was made at the Ghazipur police station of Lucknow in the Uttar Pradesh district. Additional Director General of Police Lucknow North, Jitendra Dubey spoke to TOI and said, ‘yes, an FIR has been lodged and assured that actions are being taken’.
