When the police forces reached the spot in Bengaluru, they forcibly entered into the first floor of the three-story building. A body was found stuffed in the fridge.
Bengaluru news: In one of the most shocking incidents in recent times, the body of a 26-year-old woman, whose identity is withheld, was found murdered and dismembered stuffed into a refrigerator at her residence on Viranna Road, which comes under the jurisdiction of Vyalikaval police in Bengaluru.
Residents in the area raised an alert to the authorities on Saturday morning due to a strong stench coming from the house.
Police reportedly entered the three-story first-floor apartment after reporting to the site, and it was here that they chanced upon the macabre find.
The preliminary investigations suggest that four to five days might have elapsed before the murder could have been committed, as the killer had only managed to chop up the body and kept placing those pieces in the refrigerator, apparently with a motive to delay detection and discovery.
Mahalakshmi, the victim, is a native of some other state outside Karnataka, but she has been living in Karnataka for some time.
The police are now going through the CCTV footage of cameras installed in the locality and feel that somebody in Mahalakshmi’s close family circle may have committed the crime.”.
According to PTI, the body was cut into over 30 pieces and sent to forensic laboratories for analysis. Senior police officers have cordoned off the area, and intense investigations are on to identify the killer and ascertain the motive behind such a cold-blooded murder. It is suspected that the crime was possibly committed around two weeks ago.
A man allegedly strangled Shraddha Walker to death and chopped up her body into 35 pieces and kept them in a fridge in the house they were living in. Later, Aaftab Poonawala also dumped some of the body parts in Delhi.
The police zeroed down the accused by his mobile phone’s Google location and search history. He took his victim to a few places, which he recorded on his phone, and days later, police recovered the chopped body parts of the victim from that location.
