YesMadam CEO apologizes for controversial stress survey campaign

In a video statement posted on LinkedIn, Mayank Arya, CEO of YesMadam, apologized for his company’s “planned effort” to raise awareness regarding workplace stress.

Mayank Arya, CEO of YesMadam, apologized for his company’s “planned effort” to raise awareness about workplace stress that went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Last week, a screenshot of an email sent by the company’s Human Resources (HR) Manager announcing that the startup had decided to “part ways” with employees who agreed to have stress at work in a stress survey that YesMadam had conducted itself went viral.

Later, the company issued a statement clarifying that no one was fired, and the controversy was planned to create awareness, emphasizing the stress employees face at their workplaces.

In an eight-minute video statement shared in a LinkedIn post, Mayank Arya admitted that the campaign was “poorly communicated” but defended its intention.

“People said many things, like ‘this is cheap PR,’ and even suggested we be slapped. Go ahead. Slap us if you want,” he said, adding, “This communication went wrong. But my intentions were right.”
