There was a surge in the attacks against the Hindus in Bangladesh after the fall of the government under Sheikh Hasina.
On Friday, PM Narendra Modi got a phone call from Bangladesh’s interim chief Muhammad Yunus, and the two discussed the current situation in Bangladesh after Hasina’s removal.
In a post on X, PM Modi said he reiterated India’s support for a “democratic, stable, peaceful, and progressive” Bangladesh, while Yunus assured him of the safety and security of Hindus and other minority communities living there.
