Zeeshan Siddiqui on Bishnoi gang’s hit list after father’s murder

The tragic shooting death of veteran politician Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai last week has brought up a question: how safe is his son, Zeeshan Siddiqui? Sources near the development said the Bishnoi gang is reportedly looking for Zeeshan Siddiqui, Congress MLA from Vandre East. Police sources said shooters had been contracted to kill both Baba and Zeeshan.

It has been reported that the attackers had been told both father and son would be at the site in question on Saturday evening. But they had also been told to attack quickly and kill either of the two in case they did not get an opportunity to kill them together.

Zeeshan Siddiqui was kicked out of the Congress some months ago for alleged cross-voting in the legislative council elections.

It is reported that Baba Siddiqui was killed outside his son’s office by three shooters who attacked him after throwing chili powder at the police constable assigned to his security. While Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested, the third shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, remains absconding, last seen around Panvel.

In response, several police teams were sent to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to arrest Shivkumar, and the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell is probing the case in detail.

Meanwhile, police arrested a suspect identified as one Pravin Lonkar, who, according to the police, had posted on Facebook claiming responsibility for the murder. Lonkar is the brother of Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar, an aide of the Bishnoi gang.

Investigations have revealed that the trio would travel from their rented accommodation in Kurla to Bandra, mostly using auto rickshaws, to inspect the spots that Baba Siddiqui and his son would visit. This included watching his house, office, and other functions the duo would attend.
