Zomato posted an apology, saying that the firm was just the ticketing partner for the concert and had no authority whatsoever to organize it. Pallab De, a Hyderabad tech professional, posted pictures of counters at a concert venue at which Zomato sold two water bottles at the inflated price of Rs 200, usually a cost of Rs 10 per water bottle.
“How is Zomato allowed to sell Rs 10 water bottles for Rs 100 at concert venues where no one can bring their bottles?” Mr De wrote on X and shared a photo showing the amount he was charged for two water bottles.
Zomato issued an apology, stating that it was a ticketing partner for the event, not the organizers. It vowed to consider the feedback and improve its services next time.
“Hi Pallab, we’re sorry for your experience. While we weren’t the event organizers but the ticketing partner, we’ve noted your feedback and will ensure it helps us improve our events moving forward,” Zomato replied.
