Surprising Weight Loss Secrets: Fitness Coach Shares 6 Habits She Swears By.
In a refreshing take on weight loss and maintenance, a renowned fitness coach has unveiled the unconventional secrets behind her own remarkable 50-pound (23 kg) transformation.
Therese O’Callaghan, who has walked the path of weight loss herself, is now sharing the six mindful habits she intentionally avoids to steer clear of weight gain and keep the kilos off for good.
Contrary to the common belief that weight loss requires strict diets and rigorous daily workouts, O’Callaghan’s approach emphasizes balance, self-compassion, and a healthy relationship with food. “Weight loss is not supposed to be a perfect journey,” she explains.
One of the key revelations from the fitness coach is her decision to ditch food restrictions. “I realized the more you restrict yourself from foods, and tell yourself you’re ‘not allowed’ something, the more you want it,” she shared.
Instead, O’Callaghan advocates for the ’80/20 rule,’ where she allows herself to indulge in the foods she loves while maintaining a healthy, balanced diet.
Embracing the occasional calorie-laden indulgence is another unconventional habit the coach practices. “I recognize that one day off, or one week off – will NOT ruin all my progress!” she emphasized, highlighting the importance of granting oneself permission to enjoy life without the guilt.
Furthermore, O’Callaghan challenges the notion of daily, rigorous workouts, stating, “Some days, I’m sat at my desk most of the day working, and my training/activity falls behind! I recognize that this is okay; I’m human, and some days, other priorities are more important.”
The fitness coach’s approach also extends to her nutritional choices, where she openly acknowledges her enjoyment of less-than-healthy treats. “I don’t eat nutritious and whole foods all the time. I still eat doughnuts, pizzas, burgers, cake, chocolate etc. If it tastes good, imma try it,” she boldly declared.
Importantly, O’Callaghan emphasizes the importance of managing expectations and avoiding comparisons during one’s weight loss journey. “Not everyone will understand and get on board with the idea that you’re changing,” she cautions, while also reminding readers that progress comes at different paces for everyone.
