The caption went like this, “@ananyapanday…Consistency and hard work always pays off.” Wearing a fitted black crop top and pants to match, Ananya did the side plank with finesse; it is an exercise that targets the core and helps in getting a leaner waist.

For those planning to tone up this festive season, here are three easy exercises to add to a workout routine:

Side Plank Twist
Lie on your side on the Pilates reformer. Place one hand behind your head and exhale. Lift the opposite hand toward the ceiling while keeping the pelvis stable. Ensure your feet are apart. Hold for a second before releasing.

Scissors Criss-Cross
Engage your obliques in no time with this exercise. Lie on one’s back, knees bent, and hands clasped behind one’s head for support. Lift one leg up, twist one’s torso towards that leg, and exhale through engaging the core. The movement should inhale, switch to the other leg, and twist opposite ways. Repeat a number of times before resting.

Double Lunge Twist
Start with a standing position with hands behind your head, one leg forward, and the other back. As you exhale, bend both knees and twist your torso towards the front leg. Inhale to go back into the starting position, and repeat a few more times before resting.
