Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar is creating ripples with her fervor against environmental issues, and in this recent interview that she gave with Vogue India, she opened her heart about where love meets ‘planet love.’ She says love is all about shared values at the end of the day.
Pednekar, however, is convinced that compatibility extends far beyond this personal chemistry. “I can never be with a partner who doesn’t believe in what I do. People who are cruel to animals, who harm the planet-yuck. I would never be able to respect them. At the end of the day, I only surround myself with people who think like I do,” she said, leaving no doubt that she’s compromising neither in love nor in her care for the environment.
Growing up, she explained how her parents taught her and her brother responsibility towards the community. From helping the people in Odisha at the time of the cyclone in 1999 to doing the same at Bhuj following the earthquake in 2001 and later post the tsunami in 2004, her family has been seen serving the need. “I’ve been brought up in an empathetic ecosystem, and that’s led me to understand a lot about the environment,” she added.
Pednekar also spoke about relationships, saying, “Some people get inspired, and others think you’re completely unhinged. You’ve just got to find the ones who get it.” This view puts forth the important reality of keeping similar people around oneself, individuals committed to a change in positivism.
Beyond her contribution to films, Bhumi Pednekar shows small yet mighty ways in whatever she does-be it voicing for climate action or kindling love with animals-keeping her fans constantly inspired to help join the sustainable and compassionate future movement.
