Appreciating the incredible working moms
This coming March 12th marks another important day – National Working Moms Day. Today, we celebrate the remarkable women who do it all – caring for their families and having a career.
The origins of this celebration can be traced back to a group of mothers in Milwaukee called Working Moms of Milwaukee. Formed in 2017, these amazing women banded together to support each other in handling the pressures of working and parenting.
From the start, they recognized the immense challenges their fellow working moms faced each day. In 2020, they designated March 12th as a day to honor these challenges and show appreciation for their efforts. Word of their celebration quickly spread.
By 2022, Working Moms of Milwaukee had received admiration from communities nationwide. To magnify the acknowledgment, they proposed making it a nationwide celebration. And so National Working Moms Day was born.
Since then, every March 12th, we have paused to appreciate our working mothers. The pandemic has only highlighted further what incredible jugglers they are. While continuing their important careers, they keep their families nurtured and lives running smoothly.
So this coming March 12th, thank a working mom for all she does. Her efforts daily deserve our admiration and respect.
