New mom Deepika Padukone recently spoke about her mental health struggles. She shared her way of fighting off negativity. During a conversation with Arianna Huffington at the Live Love Laugh Foundation Lecture series, held in observance of World Mental Health Day 2024, Padukone shared that sleep deprivation hinders her decision-making skills.
As seen in a video shared by The Quint, she said, “When you’re sleep-deprived or burnt out, the decisions you make are different. I feel this when I’m stressed out or burnt out because I haven’t slept enough or done self-care rituals. I feel like my decision-making is affected.
Feeling pain, anger, and extreme emotions is normal and human. And the key is how you respond to that criticism and bring it out positively to improve yourself,” Padukone said during the discussion.
Padukone has always been one to raise awareness regarding mental health, and through her organization, she continues to increase awareness by asking people to have open discussions about struggles or about reaching out when necessary.
