Deepika Padukone has been raising the temperature in the world of fashion with her effortless balancing act between chic wear in contemporary attire and fabulous ethnic wear. However, this year was extra special, as the actress welcomed motherhood when she was blessed with a baby girl with her husband Ranveer Singh.
Since then, everything-from her radiant pregnancy glow to her mesmerizing post-baby looks-continues to keep fashion enthusiasts hooked through social media updates.
This year started with an appearance at the BAFTA award wherein she wore champagne gold georgette sari designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. This stunning drape was sprinkled with infinite sequins teamed with a matching sleeved blouse. Ending, she finished off her look by pairing it up with dazzling diamond and topaz drop earrings, a wavy bun, and bronzed makeup.
For her first appearance after announcing the pregnancy, Padukone was seen in a stunning black dress that accentuated her figure. The full dress had a deep scoop back, with a plunging neckline beautifully complemented with a vintage hairstyle, Winged eyeliner, bold red lips, and emerald-studded accessories were used.
Embracing her baby bump, Padukone had attended an event in a fitted midi dress that came with a metallic brooch and thigh-high slit. She accessorized the look with several Bulgari Serpenti and Cartier bracelets and rings in gold and studded with diamonds to give off the air of poise.
Fashion never took a backseat for Padukone, even in her third trimester. She turned heads at Anant Ambani’s sangeet in a majestic purple Torani saree with intricate embroidery and was paired with a pearl choker and matching earrings. A bold smokey eye with a sleek bun just elevated the sophistication a notch higher.
At Anant Ambani’s wedding, Padukone wore a stunning red Anarkali inspired by the 20th-century Sindhi Choga Shalwar. The outfit looked very regal, especially with a ruby-studded neckpiece tracing its historical connection back to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the emperor of the Sikh Empire.
In the last week of her pregnancy, she did a photoshoot with the baby bump in a classy black two-piece and shrug knitted upon and loose pants. Very insubstantial makeup and playful mood clicked just perfect.
Wrapping up 2024, Padukone wore blue-grey denim pants with an oversize white T-shirt to a concert. And, of course, she finished it in the most Deepika way ever-stacked bracelets, white sneakers, messy hair, and dewy makeup to drive home the fact that comfort doesn’t necessarily have to be compromised for style.
