The key to retaining mental health and fitness is in engaging in hobbies. There is immediate delight and enthusiasm offered by hobbies that create a direction for personal energy. On the other hand, every form of expression tends to have certain impacts on the mind and body. Art has been related to therapeutic values, but it can take any form over music, cooking, or architecture. For actress Manushi Chhillar, though, painting keeps her creative juices flowing.
In a recent Instagram post, Chhillar was captured painting by the light of candles, using watercolors to depict a woman’s face on a white canvas. Her note read, “My kind of weekend. This definitely took more than a minute to make.”
Painting not only acts as a catalyst for the imagination but also serves to ventilate pent-up emotions, thereby taking one’s mind off some distressing moments. Many studies have suggested that creative activities can give memory a boost and further help sharpen cognitive skills, apart from encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Manushi Chhillar often shares her painting projects on social media. On the International Day of the Girl Child, she posted one of her paintings to show the strength of girls across the world. Her caption read, “Here’s to the strongest of them all! The girls! Let’s celebrate each day as ours. Let’s pledge to make it a better place for all girls across this world.”. I have painted this as a sign of my love to the girl gang, to say that we are all united as one!
“Chhillar’s artistic journey keeps inspiring many. Her art diaries strike a chord, and one can’t help but appreciate and reflect on the role of creative expression.
