Controversy at Miss Universe 2024: Panama’s Italy Mora Opens Up About Disqualification.
The 73rd edition of the Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to take place in Mexico City’s Arena Ciudad de México, has been making headlines even before the grand event.
One of the major talking points has been the unexpected disqualification of Panama’s delegate, Italy Mora, from the competition.
According to reports, Mora’s dismissal stemmed from a violation of the pageant’s strict rules. Allegedly, she was found in the separate hotel room of her boyfriend, Juan Abadia, without prior approval from the event organizers. This infringement of the competition’s regulations led to Mora’s abrupt exit from the prestigious event.
Allegations have surfaced suggesting a heated altercation between Mora and Cesar Anel Rodriguez, the director of Miss Universe Panama, centered around criticisms regarding the event’s organization.
In a bid to set the record straight, Italy Mora took to her Instagram stories to address the issue and provide her side of the story. “Regarding my departure from Miss Universe 2024: On November 1, 2024, I was informed of my withdrawal from the pageant.
The 19-year-old beauty queen, who won the Señorita Panamá 2024 title, expressed her disappointment with the decision, describing it as a “severe measure” that could have been addressed through dialogue or a warning.
In her message, Mora also addressed her fellow Panamanians, stating, “To my fellow Panamanians, I want to tell you that I have always carried with pride the commitment to represent Panama, and I deeply regret that I cannot continue on this path towards the pageant.”
As the Miss Universe 2024 competition gears up for its grand finale, the drama surrounding Italy Mora’s disqualification has added an unexpected twist to the proceedings, leaving fans and followers eagerly awaiting further developments in this unfolding story.
