Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently left everyone in awe with her see-through, shimmery red sari designed by ace couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The look was in addition to her long-running reputation for the most wealthy fashion choices in the timeless six-yard drape, but this sari was different as it had a touching design.
The sheer red was elaborately decked out with sequins in heart motifs, placed randomly all over the saree. According to various media reports, Priyanka wore this number to a private Diwali dinner, where her husband, singer Nick Jonas, complemented her in an ivory-coloured Sabyasachi kurta paired with an exquisite embroidered Bundi.
Styled by celebrity stylist Ami Patel, the red and ivory ensemble of the power couple kicked in the festive cheer for Diwali. Patel has forever been integral in piecing Priyanka’s iconic looks, and this particular one will surely be in the festival favourites.
With the perfume of flowers, Priyanka accentuated the saree with red bangles and a delicate bindi to perfect the vibrancy of the Indian festive spirit. The saree does not seem to simply set the tone this wedding season but is also an ideal pick for to-be brides. Nick also looked rather traditional and masculine, with a very festive feel given to his attire by the bundi.
Sabyasachi accentuated the saree as a democratic garment that cuts through boundaries and geographies, rejoicing in its identity worldwide. Lately, he has unveiled the Akashtara Sari collection, replete with sequin work in kaleidoscopic colours, apt to add fizz to any Diwali celebration. And not to be missed, Sabyasachi also marked his presence at the Diwali celebrations at the White House.
Recently, Priyanka was in India for the launch of the Max Factor makeup brand and attended the screening of the Marathi film Paani, produced by her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures. Accompanied by her mother, Madhu Chopra, and brother Siddharth Chopra, Priyanka looked ethereal in a Tarun Tahiliani corset-saree at the screening.
