Sadguru shares quick recipe for nutritious breakfast

New Delhi – Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has shared a smoothie recipe made with soaked groundnuts that he claims can keep one feeling full for 4-5 hours.

In an Instagram video, Sadhguru recommended soaking a handful of groundnuts overnight, adding them to a blender with banana or any other fruit and honey as per taste. Adding more water can make it into a thinner smoothie consistency to drink.

“It will keep you satiated for 4-5 hours and is highly nutritious,” he said regarding the simple two-minute recipe.

Experts concur that groundnuts make for an excellent addition to breakfast bowls and smoothies due to their dense nutrient profile.

“Groundnuts contain high quality vegetarian protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Their benefits include sustained energy release, heart health, cognitive support, and weight management,” said Sushma PS, Chief Dietician at Jindal Naturecure Institute.

Soaking and blending improves digestibility and absorptition of key nutrients in groundnuts. experts said.

They also outlined key tips for a wholesome breakfast:

“Include complex carbs, proteins and healthy fats for satiety. Opt for minimally processed whole foods like grains, dairy, eggs, fruits and vegetables. Stay hydrated and meal prep in advance to ensure mindful choices,” Sushma recommended.

A nourishing breakfast is key to kickstarting metabolism, regulating blood sugar levels through the day, and providing essential replenishment to the body after an overnight fast.
