Zara unveils Diwali capsule collection with artist Jayesh Sachdev

Navratri might be over, but Diwali is coming, and the celebrations are getting bigger and better. On the occasion of the Lights Festival, global fashion retailer Zara has added an artistic and Indian touch to its collections. The brand has collaborated with multi-faceted artist Jayesh Sachdev, known for his quirky take on fashion through his label Quirk Box.

This will be Zara’s first-ever collaboration with an Indian creator, and it introduces the limited edition capsule titled “Reverie.” The collaboration is very much expected to create waves within the fashion world, marrying art and style in a manner that reverberates with the joyful ethos of Diwali.

According to its official website, Zara’s collection “captures the exuberance and essence of Diwali” with a fanciful mix of geometric shapes and graphic elements inspired by the soft glow of oil lamps, the sparkle of fireworks, and the charm of decorative lanterns.

A striking tiger illustration has been prominently used in Sachdev’s designs. This majestic creature stands guard over this festive dreamscape, symbolizing strength and protection and adding to the season’s wild beauty.

The resplendent tiger motif is worn on everything from T-shirts to sweatshirts to handbags to totes. In a recent Instagram post, actress Sobhita Dhulipala was seen admiring a giant-sized tiger sculpture at Zara’s Mumbai showroom, sporting a sweatshirt emblazoned with three tiger carvings.

More so, Jayesh Sachdev showed the behind-the-scenes of how this striking 10-foot tiger sculpture was built; it took four months to build and weighs 300 kg. The collaboration is bound to give a new and more festive touch to Zara’s offerings this Diwali.
