The husband and kid subsequently “buy” the land after the 20-year-old Haryana IAS officer leaves.

In an appalling case of alleged abuse of power, the IAS employee of Haryana State may have brazenly used her position advantageous to her family. The reports clarified that in November 2021, the officer abandoned a stay order, which was 20 years old, for the same land deal with the village. To make it even more strange, they both happened to purchase their piece of the same arable farm.

The stay order became effective in 2002 over allegations of a problem in the land situation. Although the officer was the district’s deputy commissioner then, he lifted all the restrictions imposed without giving any reason. Locals have voiced conflicts of interest concerns, wasting their time trying to figure out how the family could have discovered exactly an untouched and available piece of land.

The most unbelievable aspect of buying fertile land in Haryana by other individuals is that cultivable land there can only be bought by farmers. The son of Mrs. Parmar was studying in Canada, according to his Facebook page. However, when villagers challenged the officer, she maintained an evasive silence and continued to deny any wrongdoings on her behalf.

Added to the Vigilance Bureau, the Opposition appealed for an honest and comprehensive investigation of this shady deal. This immoral act of using an official position for personal gain must attract heavy punishment if found guilty without exemptions. The event reminds us of another critical reason why all states should have independent anti-corruption offices. Because ongoing violations of powers should be present without efficient oversight of government employees, an unstabilizable process will occur not only inside the system but outside.
