Indian leading airline Air India has come up with a new innovation on its smart phone application called ‘AEYE Vision’.
This is an automated tool aimed at easing travel through the provision of updated information on a trip through a simple scan.
Through AEYE Vision, passengers can get flight information, their own boarding passes, baggage status, or even meals through a code on a ticket, a boarding pass, or a baggage tag.
The paperwork is no longer time-consuming since it is not necessary to input details—all the details could be captured by aiming the phone camera at the right document.
Boarding Pass: Log your journey into the ‘My Trips’ scan to check on your flight and the status of your baggage, if any.
Baggage Tag: Monitor your checked-in luggage The reason is that you never know what may happen to your bags, especially when your flight is long and you are traveling with small children. Learn when bags are being loaded, when bags are being unloaded, and when they are ready to be picked up.
Ticket: By starting web check-in, you can also scan your ticket to go to ‘My Trips,’ monitor the flight and baggage.
This new feature of Air India is located on the top right corner of the Air India Mobile Application and helps in eliminating manual entry of data. If you decide to scan a text using your mobile phone camera or incline an image, the app immediately identifies the content and proceeds.
Speaking about the new development, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Air India, Dr. Satya Ramaswamy, said, “It is our pleasure to leverage the artificial intelligence technology in the computer vision application to improve the traveling experience of the valued customers.
This feature is definitely going to be integrated into our mobile application, and we’re sure that the application will be a delight to use.”
There is also a hope to introduce new interesting functionalities in the near future, and these are a baggage dimension check, automatic passport recognition, and augmented reality destination information.
