Recently, people have been discussing Project Strawberry, which is being developed by OpenAI, and there was a recent tweet by Altman regarding GPT-5.
In July, it was disclosed that OpenAI was developing a fresh strategy for how to construct and employ fresh sorts of AI models under the code name ‘Strawberry’.
Despite silence on the project, from what is known already, Strawberry models feature as models that would wish to allow AI models to not only answer but also plan and navigate the internet on their own. Apparently, OpenAI designates this potential of ‘Project Strawberry’ as ‘deep research’.
Now, finally, weeks after Project Strawberry made its way to the news feed, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, who was rather quiet up until Wednesday, took to his Twitter to post a tweet that many regard as a confirmation of OpenAI working on ‘Project Strawberry’.
Altman has now tweeted on X, which was previously tweeted as “I love summer in the garden.” On the same post, he has attached an image of a strawberry pot planted in a personal garden.
By the way, the previous Project Strawberry was known as Project Q* (pronounced as Q-Star), which has a rank up in terms of reasoning. After the tweet, some users responded in a number of ways with their theories.

A user by the name of Robert Maciejko, an entrepreneurial leader, spoke in a comment regarding Altman’s post and noted, “If the past is any indication, then this testing will precede a major release.” Sam Altman has published this weird strawberry message.
It seems that the term Strawberry refers in fact to Q*, with which Ilya said that there is information that he saw before firing Sam.
