Elon Musk announces access to GrokAI Chatbot for all X premium subscribers

Elon Musk, the renowned tech entrepreneur, has announced that GrokAI, the popular chatbot developed by xAI, will soon be available to all premium subscribers of the social media platform X. Previously limited to Premium+ subscribers, this expansion aims to offer a broader user base access to the AI-powered chatbot.

Musk took to X to share the news, stating that starting later this week, GrokAI will be enabled for all premium subscribers, not just premium+. Further details regarding the rollout were not disclosed in the announcement.

GrokAI, which Musk recently open-sourced, has garnered significant attention. The decision to open-source the technology followed a legal dispute between Musk and OpenAI, with allegations of straying from OpenAI’s original mission. By making GrokAI open-source, Musk seeks to encourage collaboration and improvement within the AI community.

The xAI team has released the base model weights and network architecture of Grok-1, the underlying language model powering GrokAI. This release on GitHub allows developers and researchers to work with the model and contribute to its enhancement.

GrokAI was initially introduced as an AI assistant with a touch of humour and a rebellious streak, inspired by Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Its real-time knowledge is derived from publicly available posts on X, ensuring up-to-date insights based on user-generated content.

With its expanded availability to all premium subscribers, GrokAI aims to provide a wider audience with conversational capabilities and interactive experiences. X prioritises innovation and user engagement by incorporating cutting-edge technologies like GrokAI into its premium subscription package.

Users can look forward to engaging in dynamic conversations and accessing valuable insights as they interact with GrokAI within the X platform. GrokAI’s increased accessibility underscores X’s commitment to offering advanced features and enhancing user experiences.
