Elon’s mystery machine: New Tesla Roadster promises record-shattering speeds

Buckling up for liftoff in a Tesla Roadster is about to get a whole lot crazier. Elon Musk has dropped massive hints about his upcoming, aptly-named ‘insane mode’ electric car.

Addressing rocket scientists at SpaceX, Musk announced that the next-gen Roadster is set for launch by 2025. And thanks to some secret sauce collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX, this car is poised to warp straight into the record books.

“0 to 60 mph in less than ONE second,” Musk revealed, as gasps filled the room. “There will NEVER be another production car like this.”

But buckle up because the Shoreline Amphitheater-rattling acceleration is just the tip of the iceberg. Musk teased that speed is the “least exciting” part.

So, what exactly is Musk cooking up? His lips are sealed for now. But he promises that the final production design will be unveiled by the end of 2024 and deliver the

“most mind-blowing product demo of all time.”

First unveiled in 2017 amidst fanfare and an SNL cameo, the 2+2 Roadster sent anticipation through the roof by taking preorders at $50,000. Yet supply issues forced Musk to push delivery targets back yearly.

The frenetic buzz led Musk to stoke rumors in 2019 by tweeting footage of a levitating, DeLorean-esque Roadster. While such tech seems straight out of science fiction, Musk is no stranger to bending reality.

As the veil lifts later next year, one thing’s for sure – the new Roadster is gearing up to shake the limits of what’s possible in a production auto. Hands off the wheel, feet hovering above the pedals, the world’s quickest car promises to live up to the hype and shoot straight for the stars.
