One of the most shocking things to happen in the world made possible by the internet has had users worldwide cringing and puzzled: Google Mail, YouTube, the search engine, and many more services from Google went offline on Monday.
There is clearly a problem that appears to have started around 9 am ET, and there is a report on Downdetector, a website that tracks such occurrences. They saw that the graph of reports on the accidental Google outage went up when the platform detected the “error” prompts.
What has triggered this round of blackouts is still unknown, though many have received more than their fair share of loss in this new chapter of the global outages, more so as many Americans are yet to be done with their working day.
When reading tweets, for instance, user @CraigMason tweeted, ‘Debugging why the Internet isn’t working at the office. Couldn’t someone tell me it’s only @Google that is down? ‘ at X, the former Twitter.
Downdetector’s heat map showed that the Google issues were more dominant in Los Angeles and New York; others were Houston, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, and Chicago.
Out of these 14 complaints, 57% were about search issues, 31% said they had trouble with the Google website, and 11% with Google Drive.
While frustrated users from the USA, UK, and parts of Europe, Asia, and South America could not gain access to their workspaces or social media accounts, the reactions on x (Twitter) went on to set new records. Some users joked about whether one could Google to confirm whether Google was down or not, and others said they were facing problems with the Chrome PC App and Google India services.
While some of the users commented that their problems had been resolved, others were still facing them, as per the comment by one of the users from the UK: “DNS issues, Google search down intermittently. ”
This has occasioned worry among the users, who expect Google to solve this problem and return to the standard reliable service that users have grown to love. Of course, the company will be under certain pressure as it is concerned with continuous investigation and will surely be eager to offer the best solution as quickly as possible.
