Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo editing raises questions
Kate Middleton had to apologize after details from the metadata of a Mother’s Day photo shared by the Princess of Wales raised concerns about possible digital alterations.
As reported by international media outlets, examining the photo’s metadata revealed that it underwent editing at least twice—first at 9:54 p.m. on March 8 and then again at 9:39 a.m. The Princess expressed “regret” over any confusion caused and said that as an amateur photographer, she sometimes experiments with editing.
However, experts pointed out that the timestamps alone do not validate that the photo was clicked last week, as claimed. The metadata analysis provided details of the camera and lens used and the editing software.
Several news agencies subsequently withdrew the photo from publication, citing suspicions of manipulation after closer inspection. Questions were raised about circumstances leading to the multiple edits and publication of the family picture.
Amid swirling speculations, some quarters voiced concerns about Kate’s well-being as she allegedly could not sit for a normal photo session. As the controversy deepens, queries continue around authenticity and the reasons governing the photo releases.
