Apple is making changes internally, readying devices and apps for an AI system. OpenAI made ChatGPT accessible to all in late 2022 as Apple launched the newest iPhone. Now around 18 months later, all watch for if Apple will add ChatGPT abilities to the next iPhone due later this year.
However, critics feel Apple has fallen behind other big tech companies in adopting AI and bringing new features to popular products. This raises doubts about Apple’s power to compete with firms like Microsoft, Meta, Google, and Amazon in embracing AI as the whole industry focuses there.
However, the biggest question remains: does Apple have an AI plan, and when will the world see it?
After ChatGPT’s creation and popularity increase among people, nearly each tech company projected itself as AI-first.
However, Apple was one of the first tech firms to enter the AI area with Siri, its voice assistant, in the mid-2010s. Siri opened a new way to interact only through voice on iPhones. Siri improved over time and became useful for navigation on Apple TV, etc. The industry saw a change with Siri, and soon Google and Amazon followed with their assistants. Those voice assistants – namely Alexa and Google Assistant – went one step further and widened beyond voice.
