During his latest Mann Ki Baat radio address, the PM highlighted Pixxel’s historic feat of launching India’s first private Earth imaging satellite constellation, dubbed ‘Firefly’.
Pixxel’s Firefly constellation, comprising three satellites launched into low Earth orbit using a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket, has been hailed as a significant milestone for the country’s private space sector.
What sets the Firefly constellation apart is its sharpness, capturing details six times more refined than the 30-meter standard of most existing hyperspectral satellites.

Prior to the Firefly launch, all of India’s precision Earth imaging satellites were owned and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
