“As someone who has seen its impact, I think it is time for stricter measures to protect our online world,” Mandanna said.
Bheema and Geetha Govindan actress Rashmika Mandanna has been entrusted with significant responsibilities by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
She has been appointed as a National Ambassador for Cyber Security; she will raise more awareness about the growing threats in digital zones nationwide.
Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), operating under the Home Ministry, chose Mandanna to head initiatives promoting safe and proper online practices and education programs for a wary public about threats lurking in the cyber world.
Mandanna’s appointment comes at a time when cybercrime is on the rise in India, with the cases of online fraud, hacking, creating and uploading a deepfake video, and cyberbullying increasing.
The electronic age has made life easier, but it has brought sophisticated cyberattacks right to the doorstep or, rather, to the smartphones of most individuals and businesses.
As an ambassador, Mandanna looks forward to real-time action against these flaws by taking up a nationwide campaign that aims to caution citizens against becoming prey to such online attacks.
