Samsung offers $1 million reward for finding major OS flaw

The idea is that the highest reward of 1 million USD can be offered for cracking the new Knox Vault and to gain remote code execution in Samsung’s hardware security platform.

Are you also struggling to search out the easy ways toward achieving the status of millionaire? What if I tell you that it is possible to achieve that legally and with minimal effort? Samsung is seeking a bug and, in return, has stated that whoever finds evil in its Operating System (OS), he or she will be rewarded with $1 million from the South Korean smartphone manufacturer.

This type of gesture made by Samsung to encourage researchers to find inadequacies and loopholes in the OS security has been made under the called Mobile Security Program.

The smartphone manufacturer shared details about the initiative via a blog post stating how those who engage in coming up with various kinds of security holes in its products and other systems can earn considerable offline cash, especially if the holes are linked to arbitrary code execution kind of attacks focusing on high privilege targets.

This can include data retrieval, decoding of the locked devices, installation of unauthorized applications, and also unauthorized unlocking of the devices.

Depending on the type of vulnerability and the importance of the project, the company has increased the potential bug bounty to one million dollars.

Its top award of $1,000,000 can be won for cracking the latest Knox Vault and running remote code within Samsung’s hardware security platform. Knox Vault is thus an isolated secure place for storing keys and other cryptographic assets as well as biometric data on mobile devices.
