Buoyed by growing SUV demand, Renault and Nissan are gearing up to unleash a range of new offerings for Indian customers.
Four SUV models across different sizes and price points are slated for launch over the next few years. The automakers mean business.
First up will be Nissan’s sub-4 meter compact SUV, likely powered by a turbo-petrol engine. Promising sporty looks on a budget, it aims to compete in a high-volume segment.
Renault, meanwhile, will add a micro-SUV to its India portfolio next year. With attractive pricing predicted it hopes to grab a share of urban buyers seeking a small yet tough vehicle.
Beyond these, two new mid-size SUVs – one from Renault and Nissan – are planned in the premium crowded Rs.15-25 lakh range. Both carry the potential to shake up their respective lineups.
