Over 25 feared dead as Thailand school bus catches fire.

A tragic incident was reported from Thailand on Tuesday where a school bus carrying students and teachers caught fire on the outskirts of Bangkok, leaving over 25 people believed dead.

According to Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, around 25 deaths are suspected though authorities are still confirming casualties.

Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit informed that 16 students and three teachers were hospitalized for treatment, with the cause of the incident still under investigation.

Early images on social media showed thick smoke billowing out from the engulfed bus, parts of which continued burning even after the fire was doused.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra stated the students were on a field trip from Uthai Thani province located around 250 km north of Bangkok.

The premier expressed deepest condolences to the grieving families as a mother herself, without divulging further details of the tragic incident.

Emergency responders including fire trucks, police, and ambulances rushed to the scene, where firefighters were seen working to control the blaze. Investigations are underway to ascertain the full extent of the tragedy and the reasons behind the deadly fire.
