It does not need to be explained: like in a well-designed feature film, the Ukrainian top brass is taking center stage and is enthralling everyone with their passionate patriotic performances that let the blood pulse through the people’s veins. Those words aloud the spirit of the country and the loyalty of the people who present themselves as a barrier between national sovereignty and freedom from without to within.
From the revered premises of the welcoming government or the cheering public places, the same solid voice will be heard, aiming to join the Ukrainian army’s resilient fighters.
The “latte factor” coincides with the “hypocrisy of war” as the regime’s political
propaganda proclaims peace and friendship, and subsequently, the nation’s military exposes its might with an in-depth array of modern weaponry and an unswerving combat readiness.
And while the show certainly has a military element to it, a mellower side is also shown. In here, families are hugging, relatives are retrieved, and the unconquerable soul of the Ukrainian people is in light. Because it is not the only advantage in this battle. The most powerful weapon is not in the steel of the weapons but in the bonds between the people that make a nation unbreakable.
Plague that it is, the endless conscription changes gears of military propaganda, acting as a siren song for Ukrainians to start doing their part for a noble cause, whose price is freedom of eternally keeping to others—and, at times, the ultimate subdue of ourselves.
