Australia rallies against violence against women, demands urgent action

Recently, in Australia, many people took part in running rallies due to an alarming increase in instances of women… Concurrently, the demonstrators are calling on the governments to take immediate measures, those who necessitate gender-based violence to be declared a national emergency and the redoubled efforts whereby strong laws are implemented to fight this issue.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has considered the position the country is which could be described as a national calamity. The deadliest reality is the fact that one woman is reported to be killed on average every fourth day in this country this year.

When organizers such as Martina Ferrara talk about options for victim-survivors to have alternative reporting, they enable those affected to realize that justice is on their side, and they will be able to report the incident and begin their self-healing and reporting journey. Yet, side by side with the protesters who demand the government to acknowledge the urgency of this problem and start acting without delay.

In one of the main demonstrations in Canberra, while over 3000 people were present, PM-Albanese considered that these changes should be carried out more thoroughly. He thus elaborated on the significance of transforming traditions, society’s perception, the legal system, and the government as a whole to achieve effective solutions. This is a part of Albanese’s message that this is something not only women but men should do by changing their attitudes.

The rallies have been found in addition to places like Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, on the Gold Coast, where it happened just recently, and in Newcastle. The main goal of these events is to draw public attention to women’s abuse and escalating violence, which is particularly dark and alarming persistence.
