Bangladesh Anti-Quota Protests turn violent, 2 Killed Including Hindu leader

Bangladesh has surfaced with the worst crisis ever after getting independence. Although over a hundred people have been knifed to death in anti-quota protests, Hindus are said to be under attack in some Bengali regions of the country.

Situation in Bangladesh’s Noakhali district has worsened: anti-quota demonstrators began to attack the Hindus. Footage obtained by CNN News18 showed the assailants attempting to break into a house of Hindus in Noakhali. An attempt was made to burst open the door of one Tanusreya Bhatta’s house.

Such activities may be seen in the video clips of women being scared and screaming “Bhagwant, Bhagwant.”.

According to one of these sources, protestors went on a killing rampage and killed two Hindus in the Rangpur town. They attacked and lynched a Hindu Awami League leader, Haradhan Roy, along with the latter’s nephew.

The channel head of different news sources revealed to CNN-News18 that the Indian government was actively communicating with the high-ranking authoritative figures in Bangladesh.

“It is an official business, and I confirmed with some high representatives of the Bangladesh Government. The Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also taking advice from us, and at the moment we are solving this problem,” sources in the Indian government said.

On the administrative side, we have released some instructions aimed at Indians and students. Preparations for evacuation are still being made and will be put into effect soon,” other sources mentioned.

Bangladesh Protests Being about what?

For the last few months, the Bangladeshi people have been demonstrating against 30 percent reservation to the families of the 1971 war heroes for government jobs.

Due to violent protests, the Supreme Court then brought the quota down to the five percent level. But one can by no means speak of an end to this cycle with the crisis shifting into a new form every day.

The protesters have been calling for the dismissal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her unceremonious removal.
