Biden reaffirms 2024 bid amid democratic doubts

Owing to pressure to relinquish his post, there are rumors that Biden is planning not to run for the 2024 presidency; all these rumors have been refuted.

During Wednesday’s press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, was very clear that the 81-year-old president has no intention of suspending his bid. “Oh, no, absolutely not. And even the campaign, you personally heard them too,” she said to the reporters.

This clarification comes after Democrats questioned Biden’s suitability for another term in the White House after a poor showing against Trump during last week’s debate. There has been concern and specific doubt regarding the president’s ability to get re-elected based on word blunders and less discernible responses.

Nevertheless, the Biden campaign was quick to refute these doubts. During a call with them, he reassured the broader Democratic team,

“I am the nominee of the Democratic Party. Nobody is kicking me out; I ain’t going anywhere.”

The White House tried to explain the president’s debating difficulties as a result of a cold and fatigue from the recent foreign trip. Jean-Pierre particularly defended Biden using controversy, stating, “He continues to work for the American people day in and day out.”

As the 2024 election season draws near, the Biden presidency is facing a tricky situation of having to handle the rising dissent within its own party and calm the general population about the president’s health.
