Biden urges Israel to protect Palestinian civilians amidst conflict

In a crucial reminder, President Biden had issued a blunt reminder to Israel requesting to take urgent actions to protect the lives of Palestinians and from paramilitary violence by Hamas. With this gesture, he took the lead. He brought to light the significant amount of pressure, which at the time was building up, to alleviate the tragic humanitarian situation in the Gaza region. In his conversation with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanniyeu, President Biden expressed his great worry and urgently requested measures that could have lessened civilians’ suffering and inflicted less damage.

On the same day, the White House stated four explicit benchmarks for Israel and clarified that aid to Gaza would be tied to their immediate actions – focusing on the civilian population and the humanitarian crisis. Biden’s words rang in the ears of his constituents and reflected his growing frustration as well as the growing demand of the common people to end the violence and initiate an era of justice and prosperity.

The most recent attack, which caused the death of the seven humanitarian workers who were working for World Central Kitchen in Gaza, only worsened the already rage and sadness among people. The main supporter has been far more reactive; rather than as President Biden makes clear, there has to be a comprehensive change in how we approach these problems.

At the international level, the representatives of the United States by their Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken, underlying the same call for action, urged Israel to prioritize human life and strengthen aid in Gaza. ISRAEL has openly recognized the tragedy and promised to adjust its approaches now being practised during the continuing armed conflict.

The present time is going to show if Israel is going to respond immediately to the calamity, ending the suffering of Palestinian civilians and leading to the establishment of stable peace in the area.
