Britain, France and Canada’s leaders on Monday denounced Israel’s “egregious actions” in Gaza, resisted its widened offensive and aid blockade, and attacked Israeli ministers for threatening the mass uprooting of civilians. The United Kingdom, Canadian, and French leaders on Monday starkly denounced Israel’s resumed military campaign in Gaza as “egregious” and threatened to take “further concrete actions” if the attack is not halted and restrictions on aid continue.
Through a joint statement, the three countries decried the escalation of Israel’s military campaigns and blockade of humanitarian aid. They also targeted recent Israeli minister statements calling for the mass uprooting of Palestinian civilians as unacceptable. Together, the three countries condemned Israel’s expansion of military actions and ongoing blockade of humanitarian supplies in a joint statement. They also criticized recent declarations by Israeli ministers promoting the large-scale displacement of Palestinian civilians as unacceptable.
In a statement made jointly on Monday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated, “We will not stand idly by while the Netanyahu Government is undertaking these outrageous actions. If Israel fails to stop the renewed military escalation and remove its impediments to humanitarian assistance, we will take additional concrete steps in response.
We are against any move to increase settlement in the West Bank. Israel should stop illegal settlements make a Palestinian state unviable and compromise the security of Israelis and Palestinians. We will not be afraid to take more measures, including targeted sanctions.
