Bulgarian President’s gratitude for Indian Navy goes viral

Bulgaria’s president, Rumen Radev, expressed his sincere gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an official social media post after the arrival of the Indian navy ship in the surrounding waters of Bulgaria, which successfully managed to rescue an oil spill. His tweet, made on March 18th, had amassed over 2 million impressions, 25,000 likes, and 5,400 retweets, an upsurge that could probably raise the limelight of Radev’s Twitter account. Before that, his second most popular post received just a little more than 57.000 people (57k) viewing, only 75 people who clicked was is, and only 88 retweets. Most notably, most of Mr. Radev’s social media posts (videos and photos) would receive anywhere from 100 to 150 likes and 10 to 15 retweets, with impressions registering below 1,500.

The Bulgarian President’s Facebook post, which circulates the Slavic hearts of the people of either country, demonstrates the great connection between the two nations. The pilot made a beautiful statement: “We are not responsible for conquering territories. Our priority is to save hearts and spread the love.” Another Bulgarian citizen expressed his thanks on behalf of the entire nation to India for the liberation of their fellow Humans from aboard MV Ruen under PM Mr. Narendra Modi’s guardianship. What was the last straw for such affection was the response from the supporter whose comment saw the two countries sticking together through the pandemic as well as the collaborations in the military. Being a user from India, they felt that the Indian government could enforce its rules in the Indian Ocean.

Last week, the Indian Navy made a heroic mission of capturing the Ruen, a ship formerly under the Malta flag, and saving the lives of 17 of their hostages and all 35 of its crew. The distance seemingly 2,600 km from the Indian coast, the operation continued for about 40 hours. The Indian rescue mission would not have been at all possible were it not for India’s strong military, special forces, and the resources at their disposal, which rank with some of the best in the world.

As John Bradford, the International Affairs fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, declared to CNN,

“The operation’s success demonstrates the bottom line competence of the Indian Navy, in respect to both its training, command and control and other factors.”

The point here is that the impressive feature of that mission was the risk management that needed the cooperation of a warship, drones, aircraft, both fixed and rotary,

While acknowledging India’s outstanding performance, the geopolitical role of the Indian Navy is again being emphasized; that is, it will stay a force to be reckoned with as the international arena embraces it.
