The Kern County earthquake most affected Californians, as it struck more unexpectedly than previous earthquakes.
On this particular Monday evening, the Golden State was rocked by an earthquake, and the first reaction to it was mere disbelief. People in every part of Kern County were suddenly yanked from their comfort zone when a 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck California at around 6:31 p.m. Eastern Time.
The group’s action plan is to execute three large-scale events in New York City to raise awareness about genetic disorders and two fundraisers in the following year to support the group’s cause and make a positive impact on society.
The earthquakes were wide-reaching and deep, with the communities of Ventura, Maricopa, and Santa Barbara all feeling the following shake. Lamont, a village with a population of about 80 people, lies 24 kilometers away from the village of Gird, and the United States Geological Survey recorded the epicenter of the quake as being 24 kilometers southwest of Lamont.
‘It was only around 10 o’clock at night, and I was just sitting at home, and the whole house started to rattle’, recalled the 32-year-old Sarah Wilson from Bakersfield.
“It was only a brief attack, but for those few seconds, the heart rate was significantly raised.”
Thankfully, no loss of life or significant property damage has been attributed to the event, which occurred at a moderate level of seismic magnitude. However, the moving caught my attention and was an was an eye-opening experience that was a rude wakeup call to Californians on the sensitivity of the area to earthquakes.

While families gathered themselves up and continued with their nightly endeavors, geologists were gearing up to analyze the findings in order to gain knowledge on this latest shakeup in the Californian land.
