The US president, who has fantasized about annexing Canada, has also made a proposal for “buying” the nation, just as he wishes to purchase Greenland. Ottawa initially took these words in their passing as a joke, but after it turned sour on repetition, it lashed back by sending a counter-offer for “buying” the states of California, Oregon, Washington, and Minnesota.
