The Chinese robotics company Logon Technology recently unveiled the RT-G, a self-driving spherical robot that it described as a ‘technological breakthrough.’
Technology has marked a new age of robots in China, making them part of everyday life. Recently, the country presented the world with a groundbreaking spherical police robot named RT-G. AI powers it and can chase criminals on the run. According to The Sun, these are not just robocops rolling in the country; they are good enough to not only stop a crime but detect it.
Recently, a Chinese robotics company, Logon Technology, presented an autonomous spherical robot named RT-G that they call ‘a technological breakthrough’. A series of videos posted by Chinese netizens showed RT-G making its way down Chinese streets, and the videos have now flooded social media.
China has just rolled out a spherical police robot that can chase down criminals, shoot nets, and even handle falls from heights! It moves at speeds up to 35 km/h—talk about a futuristic crime fighter!” read a viral post on Instagram that shared a video featuring the RT-G robot and police officials carefully scanning the surroundings while rotating at a fixed time.
The RT-G can move on land and in water and offers a potential impact resistance of up to four tonnes. Fox News said it can attain speeds of 35kmph.
According to the company’s report, its robots’ facial recognition technology will also be helpful when advanced AI identifies criminals before immobilising them for law enforcement officials.
Further, these can be equipped with non-fatal police gear, such as net guns, grenades, loudspeakers, and sound wave dispersal devices.
