In a shocking, brazen raid, a group of men raided a Harry Winston jewelry store in the French capital of Paris, making off with jewelry worth millions of Euros. The crime took place on Saturday, with French investigators confirming that three people took part in the act.
The same source says that the thieves stormed the boutique in the fashionable Avenue Montaigne in a two-wheeler. The last one was already on duty with a menacing, long-barreled firearm.
‘The officers tried to stop it, and while doing so, they pointed the firearm at the police officers who had to stop them from continuing their run. …’ As the car was speeding, it made several millions of euros damages,’ as the French police announced for the Associated Press.
The police then are doing their best to find the culprits, but the self-proclaimed King of Jewels, the Jeweler to the Stars, again, Harry Winston, has not yet commented on the incident.
It is not the first time the luxury brand is attractive to thieves. In the year 2008, at night, a registered group of cross-dressers armed with guns raided the store, stole the items, and removed items worth $ 92 million. The accused pleaded guilty, after which they were convicted in 2015.
The repeated attempted heist comes only a week after another incident occurred in northern France where gunmen targeted a prison van at a motorway toll. They killed at least two prison officers in the process of freeing a convict who had just been jailed the previous week.
French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged that everything will be done to arrest the perpetrators of the latest attack, saying that the authorities will be ‘exhaustive’ in their search for the culprits.
The news that a wealthy Parisian was robbed of nearly $10 million in luxury items adds to the unfortunate prominence that the Paris robbery has demonstrated and underscores the dangers of crime for the high-profile luxury items of the district.
