In a terrible blow to the people in the northern part of Ukraine, Russian strikes killed an unborn baby who was pregnant and at least 10 others. Also, 25 people were wounded in two separate attacks in the Kharkiv region on Sunday, according to local officials.
The first blow was atop a recreational area, which was approximately 3 kilometers from the city of Kharkiv, where five died and at least 16 got wounded. Instead, the day continued with five more killed and 9 injured after there was shelling by Russian troops in parts of the two villages that are in the Kupiansk district.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terehkiv, has told the news that the victims of a Russian missile strike were fleeing the attack towards a recreation centre, and two missiles hit the target.
“We have indeed had today terrible losses: five men were killed and sixteen injured,”
he went on.
The witnesses talked about the shocking situation, with a man’s body located right down at the broken-down bistro area. One of the local suppressors, Valentyna, was blasted out by the loss of her husband, who was killed during the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Western leaders, asking for more air defence systems to be provided and asserting that “Russian terrorism can be stopped by the world and for this, the political will among leaders of the world needs to be formed” needs to be overcome.
The recent incident only exemplifies the everlasting impact that the conflict has, with Russia spearheading the offensive, launching a missile and attack in Kharkiv, leaving this area unprepared for the constant military strikes.
