Dhaka fire ravages building, leaves 46 dead

The fire, the most deadly disaster of this kind in Bangladesh that has claimed at least 46 lives, razed a 7-floor apartment block in the capital Dhaka to ashes. The tragic wreckage witnessed dozens of people who were injured in a devastating fire.

The fire damaged the store at 10 pm on Thursday. The building housed other restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, too. As the blaze began, and due to safety violations, the building was consumed in no time.

The official said there were no accessible emergency exits, and cooking gas cylinders were placed chicly on staircases. Moreover, the structure was so densely populated that it became a death trap.

A crowd of panicked people rushed upstairs through smoke-filled corridors, and some who could not climb down the staircase fatefully jumped from high floors or swam down from water pipes.

Conversely, the two survivors each gave an account of their survival that included individuals who devoured themselves to offer the chance of rescue to others and succumbed to that also.

Eventually, the firefighters managed to fight the raging fire for 2 tough hours with all the tools available. At least 70 came alive, but some resulted in their ultimate defeat due to death as a result of their grave injuries.

The investigation is underway but has so far rated neglect as a possible cause of the death of millions. Such accidents table the plain preponderance of negligence of security enforcement in Bangladesh.

This unhappy incident has caused pain and grief throughout the nation, sparking a challenge of taking corrective action to forestall reoccurrence. With sympathetic sentiments, those still in intensive care are the injured people who are still very hopeful for their lives.
