Dhanush and Sydney Sweeney rumored to star in “Street Fighter”

Tamil superstar Dhanush will reportedly collaborate with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, according to recent reports. Dhanush has just made his Hollywood debut in the Russo Brothers film Red Notice, and it’s possible that he could reunite with the acclaimed directors, but for now, all speculation has him paired with the 27-year-old actress.

Money Control has reported that Dhanush and Sweeney will star in the Sony Productions film titled Street Fighter. But official confirmation about the cast has not been made yet from either the filmmakers or the actors. The film was announced early this year, based on the popular video game titled Street Fighter, and it is expected to hit theaters on March 20, 2026. The same date has also been marked for the release of Amazon MGM Studios’ Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling.

Both actors have various projects in the works as their fans await confirmation of the casting. Sydney Sweeney has been lined up in several films, such as Echo Valley alongside Julianne Moore, and a big-screen adaptation of the novel The Registration. She will also star in the upcoming film The Housemaid with Amanda Seyfried.

On the other hand, Dhanush has his own list of pending projects, including Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK) and Idly Kadai. Then there are rumors about him acting in Avengers: Doomsday and a biopic of the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraja – which had a poster released some months back.

Apart from his projects in the pipeline, Dhanush has been in the news also because of his legal tangles with actress Nayanthara. He recently filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan, and Netflix over unauthorized footage featured in the couple’s documentary related to the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which Dhanush produced. This lawsuit came right after the release of the trailer for the documentary, with Dhanush returning to court after the couple retained footage from the film.
