Escalating tensions: Israel orders evacuations in Lebanon and Gaza crisis deepens

Israeli troops ordered residents in parts of the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon to vacate their homes in preparation for military operations in the area.

Food supplies are critically low at Kamal Adwan, al-Awda, and Indonesian hospitals in Gaza, officials there said as Israel’s siege of Jabalia entered its 13th day. Things are getting grimmer every passing day as the civil defense teams in Gaza were unable to recover the bodies of many people trapped beneath the rubble of buildings destroyed in the ongoing bombardments.

In addition to that, UNIFIL said its peacekeepers had been the target of “direct and deliberate fire” from an Israeli tank in southern Lebanon in another new escalation of tension in the region.

The toll in Gaza is at least 42,409 said to be killed, and more than 99,153 others wounded because of the Israeli strikes since Oct 7, 2023. This adds to at least 1,139 deaths from the initial Hamas attacks on Israel that day, along with the capture of more than 200 people.
