
Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on Palestinians trying to return home in northern Gaza; at least one death was reported. The incident has happened amidst accusations by Hamas that Israel is delaying the implementation of the ceasefire deal.
The prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has said that these displaced Palestinians won’t be allowed to return till Hamas releases one female civilian captive. This latest dispute comes out as a cease-fire, entered its second week which also follows a swap on Saturday- four Israeli soldiers for the freedom of 200 prisoners.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers have continued a large-scale military operation in and around the city of Jenin, where at least two people, including a two-year-old girl, have been killed.
The conflict in Gaza has killed at least 47,283 Palestinians and injured 111,472 since October 7, 2023. That day also saw Hamas-led attacks in Israel that killed at least 1,139 people and took more than 200 hostages.
